communion1The children in second class made their First Holy Communion on Saturday the 10h of May. A fantastic day was enjoyed by all and all the families had great celebrations afterwards. The children were excellently prepared by all involved, from parents to teachers to SNA's. They all did a great job in preparing the children for this very important sacrament.

On Wednesday the 3rd of May Our Lady of Lourdes competed in the FAI five a side county finals. To get this far they had already won two qualifying rounds. They played brilliantly on the day and were deservedly crowned county champions. They played three matches in total. In their first match they won 1-0, their second 2-1 and finally they took the crown with a 4-0 victory. The girls were brilliant and represented their school excellently.  

The pupils, teachers and parents from Our Lady of Lourdes put on a fantastic show in the Lime Tree Theatre on Wednesday the 5th of April. The show was called Pure Imagination and was produced by Tony Cusack and Mícheál Ó Dubhghaill. A lot of preparation went into the show and the children were fantastic on the night and everyone really enjoyed the show.

Our school was recently presented with a cheque for fundraising money raised by Tesco Blue Box tokens appeal. The photo is of pupils and Mrs.Gallagher being presented with a cheque by Dean McCormack's mother Lyndsey McCormack. Well done to all those involved.

DSCF73353rd Class have been learning all about Scratch using Lego. Scratch is used for programming your own interactive stories, games and animations. 3rd Class are using it to interact with Lego and build their own interactive machines. Scratch helps young people think and learn creatively, reason systematically and work collaboratively.
